Auctioneers are Tom Ashton and Rob Stringer. They make, record and produce music at Tom's house in Oxfordshire.

Auctioneers are musical magpies making indie-pop with a sprinkle of synths.

Their new release for 2025 is Upon Your Word, a mini-album of power pop, synth bops and piratical anthems.

They recently released spring tides & summer storms, another mini-album of mellow melodies and low-key loveliness.

Auctioneers have played at festivals around Oxfordshire and featured on Oxford's BBC Introducing a few times. They also make the music for critically-acclaimed sitcom sci-fi podcast Oblivity, and composed a special musical episode, coming soon.

"There was a strangeness about that song and I liked it, and I liked the dramatic vocal delivery. I could imagine finding that song and discovering that it's actually an 80s indie band that I've never heard of before. What a good band!"
- Alex West, BBC Introducing Oxford & Berkshire, on the song Strangest of Days

"Their vocal harmonies are the heart of songs like the lively `Coming Undone’, with its exuberantly dynamic sense of carefree rusticness. That airiness is confirmed by the title and nature of `The Lepidopterist’ which sees the pair doing a very decent Simon & Garfunkel impersonation..."
